Cultural Center Conde Duque - Centro Cultural Conde Duque
Housed in a former barracks, built in the 18th century for Philip V's guard by Pedro de Ribera, the magnificently restored Centro Cultural Conde Duque is a multipurpose cultural centre. Around a dozen shows, both artistic and historical, are held annually in the two exhibition spaces and the two vast patios of the Centro Cultural Conde Duque.
Open-air concerts in summer bring in a range of performers to the Centro Cultural Conde Duque. Also housed in the Centro Cultural Conde Duque are the city's newspaper and video libraries, as well as the Museo Municipal de Arte Contemporáneo, which opened in 2001.
