Madrid Travel Guide: Blind Museum - Museo Tiflológico

Owned and run by ONCE, the organisation for blind and partially sighted people, this special museum presents exhibitions of work by visually-impaired artists (the name comes from the Greek tiflos, sightless). Work here is intended to be touched, and is generally sculptural, three-dimensional, rich in texture and highly tactile. As well as temporary shows the museum has a large permanent collection of instruments devised to help the blind over the years, and a series of scale models of monuments from Spain and around the world.
